Learn more about a new grant from BGE –
We understand the financial pressures many individuals and families in our communities are facing, especially with summer approaching and energy supply costs expected to rise. We are pleased to share news of the BGE Customer Relief Fund, a new $15 million initiative that will provide meaningful support and relief to BGE residential customers who are struggling with high energy costs. Recently, Governor Moore joined BGE, its sister utilities Pepco and Delmarva Power, and nonprofit partners to launch the companies’ Customer Relief Fund, which will provide relief for limited- and middle-income customers in Maryland. As part of a one-time $50 million charitable contribution from Exelon, BGE’s parent company, this fund will be administered by our trusted nonprofit partner, United Way of Central Maryland, beginning July 1. Eligible limited- and middle-income customers will be able to apply for one-time grants ranging from $250 to $750, which will be credited directly to their BGE accounts.

This initiative reflects BGE’s long-standing commitment to affordability, equity, and community partnership. We are proud to work with United Way of Central Maryland to ensure that assistance is delivered efficiently and transparently to those who need it most.

Eligibility includes limited- and moderate-income/ALICE customers with past-due BGE balances.

Both gas and electric customers are eligible
